TEKEDU announces the third-year continued collaboration with UN Women in Moldova, to have more girls pick career in the ICT sector. The continued partnership will support mainstream advocacy on identifying and promoting positive champions in education and local workforce sector as a means to increase more young girls to take interest in the fast and growing industry in Moldova.

UN Women in Moldova is one of the founding partners of GirlsGoIT and their valued contributions to support Moldova's development has made it possible that girls have access and equal rights to benefit from mainstream technologies. With UN Women in Moldova contributions, GirlsGoIT have expanded to 11 regions (Calarasi, Ungheni, Rezina, Straseni, Soroca, Salcuta, Stefan-voda, Comrat, Chisinau, Orhei and Hincesti), 23 girls are now pursuing computer science related courses at in various technical universities.


UN Women in Moldova also contributed to the development a 2020 ambitious strategy, with 4E pillars on Education, Entrepreneurship, Employment and Equality for young women access in and through technology. The 4E strategy was developed by consortium of organisations from Government institutions, International organisations, local ICT companies, civil societies to media agencies. The beneficial applications of ICTs for women and girls are many and cut across all dimensions of life, livelihoods and citizenship.
